What bid season is

Airlines award monthly or seasonal patterns from crew preferences and seniority. Windows vary by carrier, many European bases run major bids in late summer and autumn for winter/Christmas flying.

What to prioritise

  • Rest: avoid stacking maximum FDPs with short layovers if you are fatigued.
  • Layovers: cities where you have friends, language, or crew you actually want to see.
  • Pay: overnight-heavy or long-haul patterns if your contract pays them well.
  • Life: school holidays, partner roster, and Christmas leave requests.

After awards: import and check

As soon as the new roster lands, import it into Layvr. Check FDP, pay estimates, and who's on layover before you celebrate a “dream” trip that is all early reports.

Common bid mistakes

Bidding only for destination glamour, ignoring WOCL-heavy reports, forgetting cumulative hours, and not reading the small print on standby lines.

Does Layvr help during bid season?

When is bid season for European cabin crew?
