Glassdoor tells you what cabin crew might earn. It does not tell you whether this month's payslip matches the duties you flew. These are the five errors crew report most often, and how to catch each one before you shrug and accept the total.

1. Missing sector or duty pay after a roster change

A late swap, a deadhead added, or a cancelled sector that was re-crewed can leave payroll one duty short. The total looks “almost right,” which is why it slips through. Cross-check every duty date against the payslip line items, not just the month total.

2. Night rate paid as day rate

Night differentials are easy to miscode when report times sit near the day/night boundary. If your CBA pays a premium after a local clock threshold, verify the rate column, not only the hours column.

3. Tax on allowances that should be non-taxable

Per diem and some layover allowances are often non-taxable (or taxed differently) by airline and base. When taxable treatment is wrong, net pay drops even if gross “looks fine.” Separate taxable vs non-taxable lines before you argue the total.

4. Overtime or extension not coded

FDP extensions, delayed arrivals, and disruption pay often sit outside the automatic roster feed. If you worked past the planned release and the payslip shows only scheduled hours, that gap is money.

5. Wrong currency or FX on foreign per diem

Long-haul and mixed-base months can show allowances in the wrong currency or at a stale FX rate. Compare the currency code and the rate date, not just the converted amount.
