Layvr ("we", "us") builds tools for verified airline crew: roster sync, pay checking, layover discovery, and crew chat. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you control it. We do not sell your data, and we never share your account with your employer or airline.
| Category | Examples | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Email, display name, airline, base, role (cabin crew / pilot) | Yes |
| Verification | Crew badge photo, selfie for verification, verification status | Yes, to unlock crew-only features |
| Roster | Duties, flight numbers, routes, check-in times, parsed from your pasted roster, CSV, iCal feed, or calendar sync | Yes, to use roster/pay/FTL features |
| Payslips | PDF payslip you upload, parsed pay line items (not stored as raw images after parsing) | Optional, only if you use the payslip checker |
| Location / presence | Current layover airport or city, opt-in only | Optional, off by default |
| Chat | Direct messages and group chat content, encrypted in transit and at rest | Optional, only if you message other crew |
| Usage | App opens, crash logs, feature usage, push notification tokens | Yes, for reliability |
| Photos | Profile photo, badge photo, housing listing photos you choose to upload | Optional |
Layvr is not affiliated with any airline and we do not share rosters, pay data, chat content, or account activity with employers, airlines, or HR departments under any circumstance. We only respond to legally binding requests from authorities (such as a court order), and we will tell you if we are legally permitted to.
Layvr never tracks your precise GPS location continuously or in the background. Here is exactly what we do and do not collect:
You can turn presence off at any time in Profile → Crew map visibility; this removes you from the map immediately and stops any roster-derived presence updates.
Payslip data is treated as highly sensitive. When you upload a payslip PDF:
Roster data (duties, routes, check-in times) is stored on your account to power the timeline, pay estimates, and layover features. Your roster is never shared with your airline or visible to other crew.
Direct messages and group chats are encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not read your messages except to investigate a user report of abuse or harassment, or where required by law. Deleting a chat for yourself removes it from your device and account; it does not delete the other participant's copy of messages they already received.
We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run Layvr (database hosting, push notifications, crash reporting, file storage). These providers process data only on our instructions and under data-processing agreements. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers, we have no ads in Layvr.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. This removes your roster, payslip data, chat history, and verification photos from active systems. Some data may persist briefly in backups before automatic rotation, and we may retain minimal records where required for legal or safety reasons (e.g., an open abuse investigation).
Depending on where you live (including under UK GDPR and EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Email hello@layvrcrew.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Chat content is encrypted on device before storage; this is not full end-to-end encryption against every possible reader. Access to production data is restricted to the founding team and logged. No system is 100% secure, but we treat crew data, especially verification photos and payslips, as highly sensitive.
Layvr is for verified working airline crew and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
We'll update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes. Material changes (e.g., new categories of data shared with third parties) will be communicated in-app before they take effect.
