Know your listing tools
BA crew typically use the airline's staff travel portal and myIDTravel for interline ZED/ID90 bookings. Loads shown in the portal can lag reality by an hour or more on busy days. That's why crew ask colleagues who've just flown or checked in at the employee desk.
Busy routes need early intel
Long-haul leisure routes fill fast in July, Christmas, and half-term. Short-haul Friday evenings from LHR and LGW are consistently tight. If you're commuting or positioning, build a backup flight list before you leave home. Staff travel is standby until the door closes.
What to ask when requesting loads
Include route (e.g. LHR-ACC), date, flight number if you have one, and whether you're on BA ID90 or interline ZED. Useful answers include: staff standby count at check-in, passenger seats remaining, whether non-revs cleared in priority order, and how early the desk wanted you at the airport.

LHR employee travel desk timing
Terminal 5 staff travel procedures differ from T2/T3 interline desks. Crew who fly regularly from LHR often know which flights list early vs hold lists until late. That tribal knowledge is what structured load reports are for.
Interline vs own-metal
On ZED partner airlines, priority and dress codes vary. BA crew on partner metal should confirm listing limits and whether the partner honours the same standby hierarchy. ID90 and ZED explained
Verified load intel beats public groups
Public BA staff travel Facebook groups are huge, and full of outdated posts. Layvr Staff Travel keeps BA load requests inside a verified crew network alongside roster, pay, and layovers. BA verification is on the Layvr roadmap.
